mpic++ is in the path
#which mpic++
#/usr/lib64/openmpi/bin/mpic++

but during the builds we see
MPI Support                   : not enabled (mpic++ not found)

This is a duplicate of bug 1095, which I believe resolved as "Updated MPI documentation to show how to set PATH and LD_LIBRARY_PATH for 32
and 64 bit linux distros".  However, I guess this is an issue of whether anyone plans to fix this in waf, or else WONTFIX.

I don't think it is a release blocker since it has been around and there is a documented workaround.
