Bugzilla – Bug 1275
nsc build linux-related files on Debian GNU/kFreeBSD
Last modified: 2012-03-27 14:29:23 EDT
Debian GNU/kFreeBSD is an distribution which using the freebsd-kernel and gnu userspace tools. As its kernel is freebsd, the nsc should build freebsd ones on it. here is the logs: https://buildd.debian.org/status/fetch.php?pkg=ns3&arch=kfreebsd-amd64&ver=3.12.1%2Bdfsg1-5&stamp=1317790391 https://buildd.debian.org/status/fetch.php?pkg=ns3&arch=kfreebsd-i386&ver=3.12.1%2Bdfsg1-5&stamp=1317796923
I'm not sure I understand what the problem is here. The kernels built inside of NSC are not dependent on the host operating system, only architecture. Hence different ones will be available on i386 rather than amd64. Could you elaborate on what your problem is please?
architecture ? hardware only? I noticed liblinux2.6.10.so etc files Should they be installed for users? into system wide? In these logs, there are some like: /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-kfreebsd-gnu/4.6.1/libstdc++.so: could not read symbols: File in wrong format Are they serious?
It seems that on kfreebsd-i386 cannot clean the tree completely. But it work well on linux-amd64
This bug relates to packaging nsc. Needinfo from Sam as to whether nsc ships in packaged version of ns-3. YunQiang also asks about build errors for 2.6.18 on kfreebsd; see the logs: /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-kfreebsd-gnu/4.6.1/libstdc++.so: could not read symbols: File in wrong format collect2: ld returned 1 exit status scons: *** [linux-2.6.18/liblinux2.6.18.so] Error 1
