Release schedule

We plan to release ns-3.38 in February 2023. New features should be completed by January 2023.

Release goals

Fixing all bugs (starting with high priority, then medium and low) is always a primary goal.

Build/packaging/documentation

• Changing ns-3-allinone release distributions to include maintained apps from the app store
• Migrate Installation wiki page to in-tree Sphinx documentation

Network module

• Merge Ananthakrishnan's GSoC NetDevice state work

Spectrum module

• Merge Matteo Pagin's GSoC project
• Refactor and merge signal clipping models from Sandia

Internet apps module

• Merge NSoC (Chandrakant Jena, Tommaso Pecorella, Tom Henderson) work on Ping application

• Finish and merge support for Flent application

WiFi module

• Stefano plans to push basic support for transmissions among 802.11be MLDs (STR mode).
