This page summarizes the release planning for ns-3.38, including some stated goals from a few maintainers. The ns-3 release process is listed here.
For fine-grained status of release, items that are being specifically targeted for ns-3.38 will carry an 'ns-3.38' milestone in the GitLab.com issue tracker or merge request tracker.
Release schedule
We plan to release ns-3.38 in February 2023. New features should be completed by January 2023.
Release goals
Fixing all bugs (starting with high priority, then medium and low) is always a primary goal.
Build/packaging/documentation
- Changing ns-3-allinone release distributions to include maintained apps from the app store
- Migrate Installation wiki page to in-tree Sphinx documentation

Spectrum module

- Refactor and merge signal clipping models from Sandia
Internet apps module

- Finish and merge support for Flent application
WiFi module
- Stefano plans to push basic support for transmissions among 802.11be MLDs (STR mode).
