The International Conference on ns-3 (ICNS3), formerly known as Workshop on ns-3 (WNS3), will be held on August 19-21, 2025 at the Ritsumeikan University, Osaka Ibaraki Campus and co-hosted by Tokushima University, Japan. The objective of the conference is to gather ns-3 users and developers, together with networking simulation practitioners and users, and developers of other network simulation tools, to discuss the ns-3 simulator and related activities.

Do you have some work in progress that you would like to share with the ns-3 community? The Technical Program Committee co-chairs are soliciting lightning talk proposals for ICNS3.

Similar to “poster presentations,” lightning talks provide an excellent opportunity for students and ns-3 users to present their ideas and developments related to the simulator.

The ICNS3 Technical Program Committee (TPC) chairs are currently soliciting proposals for lightning talks for the conference. They will select approximately ten talks based on their timeliness and relevance (the exact number may vary depending on the duration of paper presentations).

Participants must prepare a presentation lasting approximately 5-10 minutes to be delivered on the last day of the conference.

Submissions will be accepted until 1 August or until slots are filled, and speakers will be notified on a rolling basis. We encourage talks that will inspire discussion within the broader community during the meeting. While in-person presentations are preferred, virtual presentations will also be accepted if necessary.

Proposal format

Each lightning talk proposal should be written in English and must indicate the following:

  • Title
  • Names and affiliation of the presenter
  • Abstract (< 200 words)
  • Whether the speaker plans to attend in person or present virtually

Submission instructions

Speakers should submit lightning talk proposals via email (subject “[ICNS3] Lightning talk”), to both of the ICNS3 PC chairs: Tommaso Pecorella(tommaso.pecorella@unifi.it) and Mohit Tahiliani (tahiliani.nitk@gmail.com).

Acceptance Criteria

It is anticipated that there will be space for roughly ten such talks. The TPC co-chairs will decide on the accepted talks based on their assessment of relevance and interest to the community.

Important Dates

Lightning talk proposal submission deadline: 1 August, 2025, or until space is filled.

Notification of acceptance: Rolling.
